​​Erica spent her early career as a working musician in NYC performing in Broadway orchestras, touring with big bands and recording on various projects, having experiences that varied from wholesome, educational and elating, to defeating, confusing and downright soul-crushing. After 12 years of living int he city as a working jazz musician, she began to experience burnout and ended up moving to Whitefish, Montana. Yes, Montana.

In 2018 during the #metoo movement Erica began to reminisce and dive into her memories as the often sole woman on and off the bandstand and realized that one of the many reasons for her burnout was because she was a victim of, as many women are, the patriarchy. She figured she had two choices. Either write an epic rant on Facebook, OR write some music. She decided she’d start with writing some tunes because, what the hell!

Erica began to find her funny bone, writing songs about mansplaining, menstruation, weight loss and of course, boobs. Her songwriting snowballed into more hilarious insane original tunes and now she’s poised to release her first jazz comedy EP “BOOBS!” in 2025. Scroll down to learn more!

In the meantime Erica resides back in NYC where she is a professor of music business and technology at The Manhattan School of Music, a faculty member at Carnegie Hall’s NYO Jazz Program, Jazz House Kids, performs in Broadway pits and also travels to colleges for guest residencies.
